U.S. Border Patrol Reports Record Low Encounters

The White House underscores the need for the legislation before the House to pass so construction may continue on the border wall.

The White House announced, with the changes to immigration policy under President Donald Trump, that the U.S. Border Patrol encountered 6,070 illegal immigrants at the southern border in June. The number is 15 percent lower than the previous record low which occurred in March of this year. The administration highlighted the difference between these numbers and the roughly 10,000 unvetted migrants per day that were allowed into the nation under former President Biden’s administration.

The White House stated that, not only were the nationwide encounters with illegal immigrants the lowest on record, but that none were released into the country’s interior in May or June. Border Patrol also experienced a single-day record low number of encounters on June 28 at just 137. The administration estimates that Border Patrol will “see the fewest illegal immigrant encounters in five decades” this fiscal year.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for DHS Secretary Noem and CBP Commissioner Scott as they uphold federal immigration laws.
  • For President Trump and his national security advisors to be prudent as they assess and implement immigration policies.
